Moscow now has its own private Apple Computer museum. Apple enthusiast Andrei Antonov has been collecting Apple computer equipment for some 15 years. Antonov said that he previously worked at the DPI company, which at the beginning of 1997, offered an exchange deal where clients could bring in any old Apple equipment and receive a discount – as a result he soon acquired a large assortment of unwanted hardware.
“They brought us old hardware.” Komsomolskaya Pravda quoted Antonov as saying on Wednesday. “The fate of the hardware that was handed in would have been the rubbish dump. And it seemed a shame to me to throw away these classics, pizza boxes and other old ‘coffins’.”
The museum is located at 16 Pestovsky Per., bldg. 1, 2nd floor, m. Taganskaya and is open Saturdays and Sundays from 10 am to 6 pm, entry is free.
