Highest operating margin in the computer hardware industry detected in shares of Apple (AAPL, TDC, IBM, SSYS, HPQ)

Below are the top five companies in the Computer Hardware industry as ranked by operating margin. A healthy operating margin is required for a company to pay for its fixed costs and generate cash.

Apple has an operating margin of 27% on trailing 12 months sales of $57.1 billion and sales growth of 61.3%.

Teradata has an operating margin of 22.6% on trailing 12 months sales of $1.8 billion and sales growth of 11.6%.

International Business Machines has an operating margin of 18% on trailing 12 months sales of $97.4 billion and sales growth of 2%.

Stratasys has an operating margin of 13.4% on trailing 12 months sales of $108.6 million and sales growth of 22%.

Hewlett-Packard has an operating margin of 9.9% on trailing 12 months sales of $123.5 billion and sales growth of 11.4%.
