Dell Thunder prototype preview

Engadget got their lucky hands on a couple of prototypes of the new Dell smartphone, the Thunder. Dell has been pushing the Android platform considerably these past few months, most recently with the Streak, a hybrid smartphone/tablet that has been seeing some mixed reviews. In brief, here are some of the features of Dell’s latest Android offering:

Engadget is quick to point out that the prototypes they received are several months old, and it would be safe to assume that the hardware specs are not yet finalized (the previewer made mention of a possible VG-resolution front-facing camera). Software specs aren’t final, either, as it wouldn’t be out of the question to see the device launch with Froyo pre-installed.

Also worth noting is that there may be two devices on the market for two different carriers, though actual hardware differences between the two are also unknown (could Dell be considering a Samsung Galaxy S-esque strategy in the future?). (via Engadget)
